Thermoplastic Polyether-Ester Elastomer (TPEE)

Features:
1) All grades of TPEE are block copolymers consisting of a hard segment of PBT and
a soft segment based on polyether glycols
2) The polyether-ester block copolymers, also named polyester rubber, combine
the desirable elasticity of rubber and the strength of engineering plastics. The
soft segment features elasticity, and makes it like rubber, the hard segment
features processing capability, and makes it like plastics. Compared with rubber,
it has better processing capability and longer service life; compared with
engineering plastics, TPEE has high strength, better flexibility and mechanical
properties
3) Available grades of TPEE are grouped into 4 categories by performance:
a) High-performance grades exhibit high structural strength, wide range of
hardness, exceptional toughness and resilience; high resistance to creep,
abrasion and flex fatigue; flexibility at low temperatures; and good retention
of properties at elevated temperatures. In addition, they resist deterioration
from many industrial chemicals, oils and solvents.
b) Extruding and blow molding grades provide excellent melt strength for
making various kinds of covers and hoses coupled with the desirable
characteristics of high-performance grades
c) Flame retardant grades are used for applications requiring flame retardant
d) Modified grades are used as an excellent plastic modifier for blending with
POM and PBT to improve the impact resilience
4) Applications:
a) Automotive components: CVJ boots, airbags, air ducts, belt drive, conveyor
belts, hoses and steering wheel cover
b) Electrical appliance: cable jackets of grips of welding torch, elastic buttons
of electrical equipment, antenna cover of wireless phone, wire and cable
jackets and instrument
c) Manufacturing industry: railroad tie pads, slide of elevator, high-pressure
gasket, silent gears of recorder, silent gears of quartz clock and spring
of cigarette machine
d) Electric tools
e) Sports requisites
f) Modifier of PBT / PET / POM
5) ALL grades of TPEE are supplied as cylindrical pellets. They shall be dried in
dehumidified hopper dryer for 4 to 6 hours at the temperatures between 80 and
110¡ãC. New materials can blend with the recovered ones, but the added
quantity shall be no more than 25%
6) Inject molding: temperature of pellets shall be 5 to 15¡ãC higher than
the product melting range, the mold temperature shall be 20 to 50¡ãC,
injection pressure shall be 60 to 100 MPa
7) Extruding and blow molding: best L/D ratio of screw shall be 24:1,
the temperature of barrel shall be 5 to 10¡ãC higher than the product
melting range
8) Packaging, storage and transportation: all grades of TPEE are packaged in 25kg
multiwall paper bags with a moisture barrier inner wall, can be stored at a cool,
dry place for long, and transported as non-dangerous goods
